Krshay
Venkatesan

I have spent most of my life attempting to understand performance — in my own body, and in the machines I see around me. Pursuing my dream to be a professional cricketer, and taking up middle-distance running (training 20 hours a week), gave me a close-up view of how the biological machine that is the human body works — moves, absorbs stress, fatigues, and recovers. Eventually I wanted to do more than just experience it — I wanted to measure it, and push its limits.

That curiosity led me down two parallel paths. One year and over 50 hours spent at an IIT Madras sports-science startup, where I learned how human gait is measured using IMU sensors, led to the development of a smart compression knee sleeve — using a suite of sensors to replace guesswork in ACL rehabilitation with real data, aimed at lowering reinjury rates. At the same time, I have been studying chassis vibrations and the effect of different suspension systems on vibration transmission to patients in emergency medical vehicles, under the R&D head at a manufacturing firm. That same interest in understanding machines led to a PLS-SEM study on composite material adoption in the aerospace and automotive industries, accepted for presentation at IEEE I2ITCON 2026.

I am applying to study Mechanical Engineering / Mechatronics because I want to keep working at exactly this intersection — pushing performance further, in machines and humans alike.

"Turn your Hindsight into Someone else's Foresight."

When Krshay was five, a pair of glasses changed his reality. Diagnosed with astigmatism, he hadn't realised the world was blurry until that first monumental shift into clarity. That clarity allowed him to become a student-athlete and a professional league cricketer. Without glasses, judging a ball in the air would be impossible.

"I realised dozens of old, functional glasses were forgotten in drawers. Independence and confidence were sitting unused while others were deprived simply because of cost."

Re-Spectable is an online database, based in India, connecting high-quality used glasses with those who need them most — old frames on new faces. The platform uses lensometer verification and a QR-code ledger for clinical accuracy and offline field sorting. Active in 5 cities across India, in partnership with VHS Chennai.

1M1B AppliedAI
Curriculum Designer & Pilot Facilitator

Growing up in the IGCSE and IB system, hands-on learning was just part of how things worked. It was only later that Krshay realised how much it made possible — and how rarely students outside that system get the same opportunity.

The 1M1B AppliedAI project is an attempt to close that gap. Krshay designed a 3-tier AI curriculum for deployment in 1M1B innovation labs across Northeast India — where only 18.5% of rural schools have internet access, and 280 million workers face displacement from AI by 2030 (McKinsey, 2023).

The curriculum runs entirely in-browser (no installation required), uses Indian datasets and Northeast Indian contexts, and embeds LLM prompts at every point a student or teacher might get stuck.

"Finally, a session which has helped and will be applicable in life." — Student, Young Scholar's Academy

A two-day pilot was conducted at Young Scholar's Academy, Bangalore (June 16–17, 2026) with 55 students from Grades 8–9. Over 8 hours, students with little to no prior AI experience built image-classification models to solve real community problems.
